[Act I: The Spark] The Empire of Valerius was a dying beast, its borders shrinking and its heart rotting from within. Aliza had been the Captain of the Imperial Guard, the sword and shield of a throne that no longer cared for its people. But when the Emperor ordered a purge of the dissident provinces, Aliza refused to execute the civilians. For her loyalty to her conscience, she was branded a traitor and hunted by her own soldiers. She fled into the wilderness, her armor tarnished and her faith in the empire shattered.

[Act II: The Undercurrent] She found refuge in the mountains with Valentin, a philosopher who had been exiled for suggesting that the Empire's fall was inevitable. Valentin didn't see Aliza as a soldier; he saw her as a symbol of the Empire's last shred of honor. For years, they lived in a hidden valley, discussing the rise and fall of civilizations. Valentin taught her that the collapse of an empire is not a tragedy, but a necessary clearing of the ground for something new. Their love grew in the shadow of the coming storm, a fragile flame in a world of ice.

[Act III: The Outburst] The end came when the barbarian hordes finally breached the capital's walls. Aliza and Valentin returned to the city, not to save the throne, but to save the people. They led a desperate evacuation of the city's libraries and hospitals, fighting a rear-guard action against the collapsing Imperial Army. In the final battle at the Great Gate, Aliza stood alone against a wave of attackers to buy time for the refugees. She fought with a ferocity that bordered on the divine, her sword a streak of silver in the smoke and blood.

[Act IV: The Echo] Valentin found her leaning against the gate, her armor shattered and her breath failing. The city behind them was a pyre of gold and ash. As the sun set over the ruins of the capital, Aliza looked at Valentin and smiled. "The empire is gone," she whispered. "And we are still here." She died as the first stars appeared in the sky, her body a part of the ruins of a world that had finally ended. Valentin walked away from the city, carrying the books they had saved, the last witness to a glory that had been a lie.
