MEMORANDUM TO: Board of Directors, Sol-System Asset Management FROM: Marcus Thorne, Chief Liquidation Officer DATE: Final Cycle, Year 100 SUBJECT: Quarterly Report on Biological Asset Optimization

As we approach the final merger with the Void-Eater Empire, I am pleased to report that the "Human Capital" phase of the project has exceeded all projections.

Initially, the public perceived the arrival of the Great Ring as a catastrophic event. This was a failure of PR. By rebranding the apocalypse as a "Strategic Species Realignment," we were able to maintain social order while simultaneously maximizing the value of our assets.

The key to our success was the "Tiered Survival Initiative."

We recognized early on that the Void-Eater doesn't just consume mass; it consumes *quality*. The Empire values high-intensity emotional states—specifically, a mixture of hope and betrayal. To optimize the "flavor" of the human crop, we implemented a system of artificial hope.

We told the masses about the "Moon Refuge." We let them believe that a small percentage of the population—the "most deserving"—would be saved. We encouraged them to compete for these slots, creating a feverish environment of social climbing, betrayal, and desperate striving.

The result was a magnificent spike in cortisol and adrenaline across the global population. By the time the Ring descended, the human race was in a state of peak emotional agitation. From a culinary perspective, we had essentially "dry-aged" the species.

In exchange for this optimization, the Empire has granted the Board of Directors "Executive Consultant" status. We will not be consumed; we will be the ones managing the harvest. We have already negotiated our new roles as Sector Governors in the Void-Eater’s inner rim.

The "Moon Engine" was a particularly successful piece of theater. We let the military believe they were executing a daring strategic strike. The pride and heroism they felt in those final moments added a sophisticated, metallic finish to the meat of the officer class. It was, quite literally, a gourmet experience.

As I write this, the Ring is touching the atmosphere of New York. The screams from the streets are reaching a crescendo. It sounds like music—the sound of a perfectly executed liquidation.

I have already packed my bags for the Empire’s capital. I look forward to seeing which of my colleagues will be the first to be "downsized" in the new regime.

End of Report.
