Julian Vane believed that cruelty was a form of curation. As the Creative Director of Vane Couture, he didn't just design dresses; he designed the psychological boundaries of his employees. He would spend hours critiquing a seamstress's "lack of spiritual alignment" while screaming at her until she wept. To Julian, the tears were just another texture, a raw human element to be incorporated into his vision of "The New Elegance."

His fall was choreographed with a precision that would have impressed him if he hadn't been the target.

His three primary investors—men who had tolerated his abuse because his brand was a goldmine—decided that the cost of his ego had finally exceeded the profit. They didn't fire him in a boardroom; that would have been too pedestrian. Instead, they organized the "Vane Gala," a celebration of his ten-year anniversary.

The event was a masterpiece of irony. The room was filled with the city's elite, the air smelling of expensive champagne and hidden hatred. Julian glided through the crowd, basking in the adoration, unaware that every smile was a mask.

At the height of the evening, the giant screens in the ballroom flickered. Instead of the laziest montage of his career, a series of recordings began to play.

They were raw, unedited clips of Julian in the studio. The screaming, the insults, the moment he had told a junior designer that her work was "an insult to the concept of sight." The recordings were interspersed with testimonials from former employees, their voices shaking but certain.

The room went silent. The music stopped. The guests didn't gasp; they simply stepped back, creating a wide, empty circle around him.

Julian stood in the center of the spotlight, his silk tuxedo suddenly feeling like a shroud. He looked at his investors. They weren't looking at him; they were looking at their watches.

"The brand is now 'Vane Collective'," one of them announced calmly. "And as of five minutes ago, your contract has been terminated for cause. Security will escort you out."

Julian tried to speak, to shout, to curate the moment into a triumphant stand against "mediocrity." But no one was listening. The people who had spent years trembling before him were now laughing—not loudly, but in a soft, rhythmic tittering that sounded like a thousand needles hitting the floor.

He walked out of the ballroom, his heels clicking on the marble, a solitary figure in a world that had decided he was no longer in fashion.
